Glazing Summit receives BFRC backing

BFRC has lent its backing to the 2021 Glazing Summit, which takes place on Thursday, October 21 at Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre.

It’s the second time the energy performance ratings council, which is one of the GGF’s commercial companies, has partnered with the Summit, having been involved at the 2019 event.

Lis Clarke, BFRC’s Operations Director, spoke on stage at the last event, and she said: “The last Glazing Summit in 2019 was a tremendous event and we were looking forward to the 2020 version before its cancellation due to the pandemic.

“So, we are once again thrilled to be partnering with it after what has been an unprecedented year for the whole industry. As an organisation set up to collaborate across the glazing industry to raise standards, supporting the Glazing Summit to help shape the future of the industry is important.

“With big changes to energy ratings and building regs, we are looking forward to joining the industry in discussing the key issues.”

The eagerly anticipated one-day conference will feature a fresh line-up of speakers for some dynamic debates, including how the supply chain is addressing product shortages and skyrocketing prices; how installers are tackling key issues from materials and labour shortages to digital transformation and online sales; concerns around recycling and upcoming threats and opportunities, such as the Future Homes Standard 2025 and the drive towards Net Zero Carbon.

Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing Summit and CEO of glazing industry specialists Insight Data and Purplex Marketing, said: “Energy ratings will be a big talking point at this year’s Glazing Summit and, as the UK’s most trusted and widely used independent energy ratings system for windows and doors we are delighted to have BFRC on board again.”
