Baerlocher UK Ltd has secured the top accolade in VEKA Group’s third annual Supplier of the Year awards. The company came top in the ‘Raw Materials’ category, as well as being overall winner.
VEKA Group is committed to quality in every aspect of product and service, and the team are proud to celebrate suppliers that go above and beyond in providing the materials needed for VEKA and Halo’s industry-leading PVC-U profile systems.
Other category winners this year included; Chick Plastics for ‘Ancillaries’ for the second year running, and BOAL UK Ltd for ‘Technical In-House Design’.
‘Supplier of the Year’ Baerlocher specialises in manufacturing PVC additive mixtures using Calcium-based PVC stabiliser technology. The company supplies VEKA Group with a specially formulated stabiliser/lubricant, which ensures that VEKA and Halo profiles benefit from excellent processing, heat stability, weatherability, impact resistance, colour, colour fastness and plate-out properties. It also helps ensure the UV resistance that high quality VEKA Group products are known for.
Baerlocher Account Manager Caroline McWaters commented: “We are honoured and delighted to receive the prestigious VEKA Group Supplier of the Year Award and to be recognised as a particularly reliable and trustworthy partner, especially as it reflects our company values which are characterised by respect, integrity and excellence. We are looking forward to continuing to support VEKA in mastering the challenges they face in the market and working in partnership with them to ensure the highest quality of their products.”
VEKA Group’s Purchasing Manager Nicola Woods said: “A huge amount of work goes into maintaining VEKA Group’s position as the country’s leading supplier of PVC-U profile. We know that we are only as good as each single item we send out, and our customers deserve to be consistently delighted with the quality of our products.
“This is why we are so stringent in the selection of our suppliers. Each one must meet a host of requirements and undergo constant monitoring to ensure these standards don’t drop.
“Key suppliers are provided with a monthly ‘vendor rating report’ which outlines how we have judged their performance. They are graded on quantitative data such as number of non-conformances and ‘on time in full’ deliveries, but also on qualitative data such as customer service, flexibility and timely responses to queries.
“This means we can keep a close eye on the supply chain, allowing us to continue providing the best possible customer experience. Suppliers must achieve or exceed a benchmark score each month (without fail!) in order to remain on our approved suppliers list.
“This data also enables us to offer well-deserved praise where it’s due, and these awards give us chance to acknowledge the hard work of our top suppliers.
“Congratulations to the team at Baerlocher UK; winning this award is a testament to all your hard work over the year. It’s certainly not easy to achieve and shows the commitment to quality you continue to demonstrate.”
