At an event to mark a phenomenal 130 years in business, hardware experts Caldwell have unveiled a set of core values designed to guide its development in the decades ahead.

These include commitments to safety, integrity, accountability, collaboration and innovation. Sales Director Tim Ferkin explains the thinking behind the rebranding exercise.

“Not many businesses reach 50 years, let alone 130 – and when you do, you can’t help but reflect on where you’ve come from, and where you want to go next. What kind of business do we want to be in another ten, fifty, 130 years’ time?

“That’s why we decided to go back to basics – to drill down and find the fundamental values that have got us this far and want to strengthen in the future.”

The result was eight core values, which the company explains as follows:

Integrity: “We are ethically unyielding. Trust is foundational. We embrace open and honest communication.”

Safety: “Our employees are our most valued asset. Safety of our team is never jeopardised for any reason.”

Collaboration: “We achieve uncommon results by working together, in a supportive way, on common goals.”

Accountability: “We hold ourselves accountable to proactively see, own and solve problems.”

Humility: “We use our strengths with quiet confidence, learn from our mistakes and respect others. Humility protects us from the arrogance of success.”

Passion: “We are committed in heart and mind. We are actively engaged in achieving positive results for Caldwell.”

Innovation: “We challenge the norm and embrace change. We continually challenge ourselves in all we do to drive continuous improvement.”

Customer obsession: “We are relentlessly focused on meeting the needs of our customers. We listen and partner for mutual success.”

Tim continues: “Guided by these values, we’re confident that we can continue to build on Caldwell’s reputation as an innovative, passionate, world-leading business.
