ERA Protect gets even smarter with three new security devices

ERA, one of the UK’s leading home security providers, is helping installers meet the increasing demand for smart security, with the addition of three new products to its intelligent ERA Protect ecosystem.

The latest app-controlled devices include a Smart Video Doorbell, Indoor Wi-Fi Camera and Wireless Keypad, all of which can be wirelessly integrated with the ERA Protect Alarm hub, alongside two Outdoor Cameras, as well as PIR sensors, sirens and other accessories.

Combining British security intelligence and innovative technology, the new ERA Protect Smart Video Doorbell enables homeowners to see, hear and speak to visitors, with 24-hour live viewing capability. With premium sound quality and HD video, the doorbell syncs with smartphones as well as Alexa and Google Home devices and has sophisticated motion detection capabilities, thanks to a 140° field of view and up to 2m of infrared night vision.

The ERA Protect Indoor Wi-Fi Camera allows users to see and hear what is happening inside their property via a smartphone or tablet. Offering live viewing capability day and night, the camera uses a sophisticated motion sensing algorithm to send real-time alerts and trigger recording when motion has been detected. Ideal for monitoring  residential properties, small offices and outbuildings, the camera also features two-way dialogue via walkie-talkie mode.

For additional security and peace of mind, both the Smart Video Door Bell and Indoor Wi-Fi camera use bank-grade 128-bit SSL data security encryption to ensure user privacy and protect content stored on the ERA Protect cloud platform. For both devices, users have the option to upgrade to 30 day rolling storage of footage if desired. Each device is suitable for use as a standalone product or as part of the wider ERA Protect ecosystem.

Also new is the ERA Protect Wireless Keypad, which provides users with the flexibility to arm and disarm the alarm system, without requiring app access or the use of remote control key fobs. By placing the keypad in a convenient location, individuals can simply enter a code or use personalised RFID tags to control the ERA Protect system, and the keypad can be easily paired with all ERA Protect alarm accessories using a unique QR code.

Kerry Blackford, Head of Product at ERA, commented: “With people returning to work and spending more time away from home, we expect to see the growing demand for smart security products rise even further, with more homeowners looking to purchase the latest technology to protect their properties and make their lives easier.

“The latest additions to the ERA Protect ecosystem build on an already compelling smart security offering, built on 180 years of experience, and enables us to continue to support professional installers in generating new revenue streams and securing cross-selling opportunities. For new users, the ERA Protect system now offers an even broader range of security devices that can be specified to suit their needs and for existing users, the new products can be easily added to provide additional protection, as and when required.

“ERA Protect builds on our extensive security knowledge and heritage and is a testament to our ongoing commitment to developing total security solutions that deliver on both quality and functionality.”
