Total Hardware confirms continued Secured by Design commitment

Leading hardware supplier Total Hardware has announced its continued commitment to offering products that consistently offer high quality security performance by renewing its Secured by Design (SBD) accreditation.

Chris Pell, General Manager at Total Hardware, says: “Our customers know that security is a huge factor for contractors and homeowners and we are proud to have a range of hardware products that have achieved Secured by Design accreditation, the flagship UK police initiative to help design out crime through the use of high-quality, innovative products and processes. Secured by Design is a valuable accreditation, offering additional benefits for our customers.”

Total Hardware has Secured by Design accreditation across a range of hardware products including its Quantum MK3 Cranked and Inline Window handles, Tilt and Turn handles, Duration Friction Stays, Rapid Fit Door Hinge and the Flush Sash and High Security Quad Locks.

Chris commented: “The Secured by Design accreditation gives fabricators peace of mind, knowing that the hardware has passed rigorous testing which presents an additional upsell.”

Secured by Design is now widely recognised by professional audiences and increasingly by consumers, as a valuable mark of police preferred specification. SBD Technical Manager, Alfie Hosker said: “I know that Chris and the team at Total Hardware are developing and looking to add tested and certificated door and window hardware products to their Secured by Design Police Preferred Specification range. I am delighted that they promote products which have had or are involved in enhanced security testing”.

Secured by Design is the official police security initiative that works to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to provide safe places to live, work, shop and visit. Its product accreditation scheme – the Police Preferred Specification – provides a recognised standard for all security products that can deter and reduce crime.

Chris concludes, “Products that meet the highest standards and comply with the latest regulations are vital. It’s something that Total Hardware take very seriously. Our customers depend on the quality and compliance of our products and we don’t let them down.”
