The British Federation Rating Council (BFRC) has widened the scope of its onsite testing capabilities with the purchase of a Sparklike Laser Portable 2.1. Reinforcing its commitment to raise standards across the industry, adding this latest instrument to their already impressive kit list will enable them to support customers in determining IGU gas concentration in a non-invasive way.
Richard Sellman, Managing Director at BFRC explains: “For some time now we have been broadening the scope of our offering, to include more and more testing and certification services – all of which add real value to our customers. We talk a lot about ‘doing the right thing’ and that’s because there has never been a more pressing time for our industry to do just that. Being able to verify product performance straight from the production line is one thing, but expectation to deliver on that performance rating once in situ is just as important, if not more so.
“Using the Sparklike Laser Portable 2.1, we can carry out gas concentration testing onsite, which, along with our emissivity and dew point testing, allows us to work with clients to estimate the energy efficiency of the current IGU system in a building, supporting building management and sustainability goals. It’s non-invasive technology, so there is no need to deglaze the IGU and can measure through a variety of coatings on both double and triple glazing.
The BFRC Difference
“Each extension to our service offering is borne out of understanding how our customers want us to support them. Our services complement each other, which means our customers can benefit from multiple tests and checks being completed in one visit, reducing any downtime whilst delivering a professional, timely and reliable service. We are fast becoming the go-to collaborative partner for all of our customers testing and certification needs, because we just want to make things as hassle-free as possible.”
