Specialist commercial installer, The Window Company (Contracts), was awarded Ashford Borough Council’s window and door replacement contract for the first time in 2024, and is making such good progress that it has just completed its 250th installation in one of the council’s own independent living schemes.
To mark the milestone, The Window Company (Contracts) presented a special bouquet to Mrs Patricia Charles-Hunt, the resident of the 250th property in Luckley House, Wye, with Denise Libbeter, Independent Living Officer responsible for the scheme, Rueben Brown, Contracts Surveyor, and senior members of Ashford’s Housing team looking on.
David Thornton, The Window Company (Contracts)’ chairman, said: “It’s fitting that our 250th installation was at Luckley House because it’s been one of the stand-out schemes on the programme so far, with outstanding feedback from the residents and the scheme managers.
“Many of the residents are fairly elderly, so our focus was always on minimising disruption, keeping noise levels down and maintaining a secure and safe site so that there was no risk of anyone tripping or falling. Our efforts were so well appreciated that, during the installation, our teams were even invited to share the special cooked breakfast which is served to the residents every Thursday.”
Denise Libbeter added: “Having the new windows and doors fitted has been a wholly positive experience from start to finish. The efficiency of the service, the kindness and friendliness of the fitting teams and the quality of the products have been appreciated by everyone here.”
The Window Company (Contracts), which is based in Chelmsford but has a dedicated satellite base in Ashford to service this contract, installed PVC-U windows and doors in Rehau Total 70 profile fabricated by Polyframe in all 32 flats in the development.
