Managing Director of external shading specialists, Caribbean Blinds, is set to join an expert panel exploring glazing’s role in the UK’s overheating crisis at this year’s Glazing Summit.
On Thursday 9 October, Stuart Dantzic will take centre stage at one of the sector’s biggest conferences to discuss the ongoing battle against domestic overheating and to examine glazing’s pivotal role in creating comfortable, energy efficient homes.
This comes as Part O of the building regulations, introduced to combat overheating in new builds, has inadvertently prompted developers to reduce window sizes, creating darker spaces and impacting industry revenues. Stuart’s involvement in this panel discussion will see him challenge this approach and highlight alternative methods to combat this.
Stuart Dantzic, MD of Caribbean Blinds, said: “With the challenges being introduced by Part O, it’s time the industry shifts its approach to glazing and external shading solutions.
“Rather than compromising on glazed areas to meet regulations, we should be embracing external shading by making it an integral part of every specification. It’s about creating homes that work with our changing climate, not against it.”
Since taking over Caribbean Blinds from his parents in 2017, Stuart has been dedicated to understanding the impact of solar shading products, their impact on buildings and the people living and working in them. In recent years he has worked incredibly closely with the British Blind and Shutter Association in the UK and has even become a qualified Smart Solar Shading Advisor.
As well as appearing as one of this year’s panelists, Stuart and his team also have an exhibitors stand at the event where they will be launching a brand-new project. While key details are under wraps until after the event, its topic perfectly complements the conference agenda.
