Specialist aluminium fabricator CDW Systems is finding growth in assisting smaller fabricators in meeting project requirements that would otherwise be beyond their capabilities.
The Gloucester-based company has been supplying aluminium window, door, and curtain wall products to the domestic and commercial markets for more than 30 years.
And while still busy from installers wanting windows and doors for commercial applications, they are also getting asked to help smaller fabricators.
Limited resources, restricted production capacity, and limited access to specialised equipment can make it difficult for smaller fabricators to undertake and complete large projects efficiently.
CDW Systems’ Group Chairman Jeremy Phillips, said: “We’re still busy, and what we are finding now is that we are getting quite a lot of business from customers who do a little bit of fabrication themselves but have not got the capacity to cope with the larger type of projects, so they will use us for those, and we are very happy to do that.”

“Some companies will also fabricate more domestic aluminium whereas we do the commercial range as well, so they will use us for those products for their commercial projects, and we’re finding that’s another area of growth for us.”
